Made from heavy duty canvas with sewn-in loops and bound edges. Apron is designed to accommodate apron rods and proper beam attachment. On modern plain beams and on cloth storage systems, the beam end has sewn-in velcro to match velcro on the beam. For older-style plain beams, this end of the apron has a bound edge and the apron is secured by tape or using the stick-in-groove system. For older cloth storage beams, this end of the apron has a bound edge and the apron is secured by tape.
Warp apron is designed to come right up to the rear of the harnesses for minimal yarn waste. Likewise, the cloth storage apron is designed to follow the path from the beam through the rollers right up to the front of the reed.
